So we have looked at how paper towel rolls are pretty interesting for guinea pigs, can guinea pigs eat or chew paper towels?

Can guinea pigs eat paper towels?

Well yes, they can, and they will be fine for them to chew and eat, just like any other paper.

But they really shouldn’t be part of their staple diet, besides the fact that once they realize they don’t taste of good veggies or decent grass hay, they will quickly turn off it and move on to something else.

This is why paper towels work quite well as a base bedding or bedding itself as they are something safe for guinea pigs to sleep on.

However, they do need changing often as guinea pigs do pee a lot and so they will get soggy very quickly.

A paper towel roll is the piece of cardboard which holds the paper towels which are coiled around it.

If you are looking for something for your guinea pigs to chew on or play with to break their boredom, then something free you can use is to use paper towel rolls.

The great thing about them is that they are long and so can provide something for your piggies to chew on as well as play with how they like in their cage.

Paper towel rolls these days are not dangerous for them to chew on and they might enjoy just gnawing something.

If you do use paper towel rolls, consider putting the empty roll aside for your guinea pigs the next time you finish a roll.

Just by putting them in un-cutup, will provide a bit of entertainment for them as well as something else to nibble on
