Ginger beer is a beverage which is enjoyed by many around the world who live it for its unique taste.

Traditional ginger beer is a naturally sweetened and carbonated, usually non-alcoholic beverage. It is produced by the natural fermentation of prepared ginger spice, yeast, and sugar.

Its origins date from the colonial spice trade with the Orient and the sugar-producing islands of the Caribbean.

It was popular in Britain and its colonies from the 18th century. Other spices were variously added and any alcohol content was limited to 2% by excise tax laws in 1855.

They can drink any kind of carbonated drink as it is far too sweet for them and acidic as well.

So leave the ginger beer to you and your family and give them water instead.

They’ll enjoy it a whole lot more.

Beer is a drink that many people enjoy throughout the year. There are so many different types that you can get and they do vary in flavor and strength.

So if you have beer in your home, can guinea pigs drink it as well?

Unfortunately, beer is incredibly bad for guinea pigs.

Can Guinea pigs drink Beer?

Here’s why;

1. They cannot take any kind of alcohol. It will really harm them if they drink it and may kill them if hey have a lot of it.

2. They cannot drink carbonated drinks. They are far too acidic for them to have and that to will harm them if they have it. Their tummies just can’t handle it.

So beer really is a bad thing for your guinea pigs to have, and if you want to seriously harm your guinea pigs, if not kill them, feed it to them.

On the other hand, just give the fresh water and keep the beers to yourself and have a good night in 🙂

Unfortunately, guinea pigs can’t drink any carbonated drinks at all. They contain far too much sugar and acid in them, not to mention the high-fat content.

So Pepsi like all other carbonated drinks is something to avoid giving to your guinea pigs.

Can Guinea Pigs Drink Camomile Tea?

Chamomile tea is an herbal infusion made from dried chamomile flowers and hot water. Two types of chamomile used: German chamomile and Roman chamomile.

One recipe calls for 2 to 3 heaped teaspoons of the flowers, steeped for 10–20 minutes and then strained. (source)

There aren’t many things that guinea pigs can drink, in fact, they are pretty limited as to what they can usually drink.

Unfortunately, camomile tea isn’t on that list.

This because they can’t drink anything that has caffeine in it. So any kind of tea is out for guinea pigs.

If they do happen to drink some of it, they should be fine, but make sure that it isn’t too much. Too much can cause them problems and a trip to the vets.

Instead, feed them fresh water so that they get the refreshment that they need without getting harmed in the process.

Can Guinea Pigs Drink Cranberry Juice?

When it comes to drinking liquids there tends to be one thing that guinea pigs can drink and that’s water but there are certain drinks that they can dabble in if you are careful.
The thing with liquids is that there can’t be any sugars, additives or preservatives added to it like those that humans often drink. It must be naturally pure, if it does contain a hint of additives or preservatives then it’s out.

So when it comes to juices, can Guinea pigs drink cranberry juice?
Cranberries are great for Guinea pigs to eat and are known to be quite medicinal for them. Many guinea pigs have given guinea pigs cranberry juice to help them.
So if you do want to feed your guinea pigs cranberry juice then it needs to be 100% cranberry juice without any additives.
It also needs to be diluted, about a quarter cranberry juice, if not less, and three-quarters water.
Don’t feed it to them too often, once a week should suffice which is about as often as they should eat cranberries.
The rest of the time they should drink water.

The thing with Apple juice is that it is either very concentrated or has been sweetened.

They just can’t handle the extra preservatives, sweeteners, and additives that are added to these drinks.

So if you are thinking about it then it would need to be fresh without any artificial colorings, sweeteners, additives, or sugars and very watered down with that.

It would take a lot of effort to get some that are just right for guinea pigs to drink without getting poorly tummies.

This is why in the long run, it is best to stick to water when looking what to give guinea pigs to drink.

Can Guinea Pigs Have Orange Juice?

Orange juice is one of those drinks that is often drunk straight from the fruit or it is made into a cordial drink.

We have already looked at whether guinea pigs can have oranges here, and we have seen that they are good for guinea pigs to eat in small amounts, mainly because of their high vitamin c levels.

But what about juice, can guinea pigs have that on its own?

Can guinea pigs have orange juice?

Unfortunately,  juice which either comes directly from the fruit or from concentrate in cartons far too sweet and acidic for guinea pigs to have.

Orange juice cordial is not as bad as it is not as acidic as fresh orange juice but is far too sweet for guinea pigs to have.

Stick to just feeding guinea pigs water to drink.

That really is the only liquid that they can have, and they do need plenty of it to keep themselves refreshed.
