Here is our list of Guinea Pig Rescue Shelters in Wales. This is by no means a comprehensive list and is growing all the time.

We put these lists together to make it easier for people to know where to go to get a rescued guinea pig. There are hundreds of guinea pigs there that need a good home throughout Wales, so do consider getting in touch with these good people.

Ceredigion

Rhydowen Rodent Refuge is in the rural village of Rhydowen, not far from Llandysul in Ceredigion, West Wales.We have been keeping rodents and rabbits as pets most of our lives and have taken in many small furries over the years that needed new homes.

Denbighshire

North Clwyd Animal Rescue – Based in Trelogan, nr holywell. There are a large number of unwanted, abused and abandoned animals in this region and although this is not a unique issue facing this area, we know that there would be a lot more pain and suffering subjected to animals if we ceased to exist.

Glamorgan

Glynneath Guinea Pig Rescue – Based in Glynneath, Wales. this is a private gp rescue run by proprietor suzie

Cardiff Guinea Pig Rescue – Cardiff Guinea Pig rescue was set up in July 2010 to answer the demand to find good, caring and proactive homes for the growing number of Guinea Pigs being given away in the South Wales area.

Gwent

The Rescue Range – The Rescue Range is a small scale rescue organization, based in Newport, Gwent. Our work involves rehabilitation and rehoming of sick, injured, neglected and unwanted small pets.

RSPCA Newport Animal Centre – part of the national RSPCA animal rescue organisation

All creatures great and small – Based in Cwbran, All Creatures Great and Small Animal Sanctuary based in South East Wales has been serving community since 1992. The Sanctuary operates a programme of rehabilitation and re-homing of injured, abused, unwanted and orphaned animals.

Monmouthshire

Socelex – Based in Crumlin, nr Newport, Socelex is an animal sanctuary in Gwent, South Wales. We care for injured animals of all kinds and rely entirely on voluntary donations. We have a no destruction policy and we operate an animal ambulance.

Powys

Forget me not animal rescue – Based in Welshpool, Forget-Me-Not Animal Rescue is the collaboration of two individuals who care very much about protecting all animals and the environment in which we live. We are dedicated to making a difference to the lives of the animals we rescue, in addition to this, we educate and influence people through our compassionate and ethical message
