Can Guinea Pigs Eat Lemongrass?

Lemongrass is a herb that is often found in Asian cuisine. It is often called citronella or sereh and tends to grow in clumps.

It takes the appearance of a larger spring onion as it has a similar base and it has a very unique flavour and smell of sweet lemon.

So if we can eat them, can guinea pigs eat lemongrass and if so, how much can they eat?

Lets take a look and find out by taking a look at its nutritional data.

As per usual we’re looking at its sugar, oxelate acid, phosphorus, calcium, and fat content as its that which affects piggies most of all.

As you can see lemongrass does contain quiet a bit of calcium and a hint of fat. But other than no sugar, phosphorus and oxelate acid.

It does contain a bit of vitamin c as well.

Guinea pigs can eat lemongrass, but because of its calcium content it is not a food that piggies should eat daily, they should only eat it two to three times a week at the most.

It does contain a bit of vitamin c but nothing to get excited about and there are definitely better herbs that guinea pigs can have
