Kiwi fruit is very high in sugar and with this can be bad for their tummies if they have too much, just once or twice a week.

However kiwi fruit does have a huge amount of vitamin c and so is incredibly beneficial for them in that instance.

So what happened when I gave kiwi fruit to my guinea pig?

I didn’t strip of the skin and the seeds so just cut it up into small pieces so he could enjoy it more, and enjoy it he did! Check it out here.

Can guinea pigs eat kiwi fruit seeds?

The seeds are fine for them to eat as they are small enough for them to crunch and digest.

Can guinea pigs eat kiwi fruit peel?

Yes the skin is fine for them to eat. They will handle it just fine and as we can eat it, its ok for guinea pigs too.

Verdict: Kiwi fruit is very good for guinea pigs to eat, like many fruits though, don’t give them too much so their tummies won’t hurt.

My guinea pig ‘Rocket’ did enjoy it although didn’t eat a lot of it. It’s also reassuring that I can feed my guinea pigs the seeds and the skin as well which for a lot of fruits you just can’t do.
