Butternut squash is a winter squash with a particularly sweet, nutty taste.
Also known as butternut pumpkin in Australia and New Zealand, It can be roasted, toasted, puréed for soups, mashed, used in breads, muffins and casseroles.
We love having home made butternut squash soup in this season as its the perfect ‘fall weather’ food. With some warm cheese bread, it is absolutely amazing!
But I digress!!
With fall season upon us it is a very popular fruit, so it seems to be an ideal time to see if guinea pigs can eat it.
Lets dig a little deeper and see if they can eat butternut squash by having a look at its nutritional data.
Because of this, don’t feed on a daily basis.
A few times a week should suffice in small amounts.
