Butternut squash is a winter squash with a particularly sweet, nutty taste.

Also known as butternut pumpkin in Australia and New Zealand, It can be roasted, toasted, puréed for soups, mashed, used in breads, muffins and casseroles.

We love having home made butternut squash soup in this season as its the perfect ‘fall weather’ food. With some warm cheese bread, it is absolutely amazing!
