Apricots are from the same family as the peach, plum, nectarine and cherry. They are a soft and fragrant fruit that has a velvety skin. They have a pale yellow or deep orange colour.

They grow in warm climates and so tend to grow in hot countries in Europe and South America.

So can guinea pigs eat apricot and if they can, how much of them can be eaten?

As you can see apricots contain a hint of phosphorus, fat and calcium, and are a little acidic and are quite sweet.

They also contain some vitamin c.

With this in mind, guinea pigs can eat apricot but only one to two times a week at the most. This is because of their acidic content.

Guinea pigs can also eat apricot leaves which are fine for them.
