Can Guinea Pigs Drink Gatorade?

Gatorade is a brand of sports-themed beverage and food products, built around its signature line of sports drinks. There are many different types of Gatorade drinks which were originally created to help athletes by acting as a hydrating replacement for body fluids lost during physical exertion in hot weather.

So can guinea pigs drink Gatorade as well?

No they can’t at all. Despite there being many types of Gatorade, they all contain a lot of water, sucrose (table sugar), dextrose, citric acid, natural flavour, sodium chloride (table salt), sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, and flavoring/coloring ingredients; some Gatorade flavor variations use brominated vegetable oil as a stabilizer.

These are ingredients that are incredibly bad for guinea pigs and so they should not touch Gatorade at all. It will do them a lot of harm.

Instead, give them fresh water and don’t try any other liquids for them to drink. Fresh water is the best thing for them and will ensure they get the refreshment they need.
